The AICS Cross Country Race titled Dhavanam – Run for Victory was successfully hosted by Anandathirtha Vidyalaya on 2nd August 2025. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from 22 CBSE schools, with a total of 160 athletes competing in the marathon.
The event was flagged off by the Management Trustees of Anandathirtha Vidyalaya – Mrs. Roopa Ballal and Mr. Sudarshan Rao. For the convenience of schools travelling from distant places, accommodation and food facilities were arranged a day prior to the event.
The athletes competed across three different categories:
Under-17 Boys: 5 km
Under-17 Girls & Under-14 Boys: 4 km
Under-14 Girls: 3 km
A 15-minute interval was maintained between the start of each category. Volunteers were stationed at every key point along the route to monitor the race, and hydration stations were provided every 1.5 km to ensure the athletes remained energised and safe.
Upon completing their race, each participant was served a fruit bowl followed by a hearty breakfast.
The atmosphere was electric with sportsmanship, cheers, and team spirit. Every athlete gave their best, running with determination to bring honour to their school.
The winners of the marathon were:
Winner: DR. NSAM ENGLISH MEDIUM SCHOOL, NITTE
Runners-up: ANANDATHIRTHA VIDYALAYA, PAJAKA
1st Runner-up: SRI BHUVANENDRA RESIDENTIAL SCHOOL, KARKALA
2nd Runner-up: SRI MOOKAMBIKA PUBLIC SCHOOL, GOLIHOLE
Mrs. Anita P. Raj, Principal of Vidyodaya School, was the Chief Guest. She addressed the gathering and urged students to respect their Physical Education teachers, acknowledging that it was their guidance and effort that enabled the athletes to participate and excel. The winners were honoured by the Chief Guest along with Mrs. Roopa Ballal.
Principal Dr. Geetha Shashidhar graced the stage along with the dignitaries. All teachers and volunteers of Anandathirtha Vidyalaya were actively present and contributed towards the smooth conduct of the event.

The event concluded with the National Anthem, sung with pride and unity by all the participants, instilling a deep sense of patriotism among everyone present.
