Health Check-up Programme – “Wellness on Wheels”
Rotary Club, Manipal Town, in association with the Interact Club of Anandathirtha Vidyalaya, organised a health check-up programme titled “Wellness on Wheels” on the school campus.
The programme began with Dr. Kumar Bhat, Chairman of the Interact Club, RCMT, extending a warm welcome to the gathering. This was followed by a soulful prayer rendered by the students to invoke the blessings of the Almighty.
Thereafter, Rtn Dr. Deepak Ram Bairy, President of the Rotary Club, Manipal Town, addressed the audience and highlighted the purpose of organising the health check-up, emphasising its importance for the well-being of drivers and school staff.
The dignitaries present on the occasion included the Chief Guest, Mr. Sudarshan Rao, Panchayat Member of Kurkal and Trustee of Anandathirtha Trust, Dr. Niharika Shetty, Medical Officer, PHC Moodabettu, and Dr. Sucharita, Department of Community Medicine, KMC Manipal.
The health camp was not limited to drivers alone; attenders, teaching staff and non-teaching staff also availed themselves of the facilities. The medical team that conducted the check-up was highly professional, creating a friendly atmosphere that made the beneficiaries feel at ease during the tests. The entire team of doctors, medical staff, and Rotary members appreciated the warm hospitality and excellent arrangements made by the school, which ensured the smooth conduct of the programme.
In total, 101 beneficiaries availed themselves of the services:
101 underwent BP and Blood Sugar tests
43 underwent ECG tests
52 underwent Eye tests
Principal Dr. Geetha Shashidhar remarked that the event was a resounding success owing to the effective coordination between the Rotary Club members and the school’s Interact Club members. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks proposed by Master Sumukha, President of the Interact Club – Anandathirtha Vidyalaya
The event not only contributed to the well-being of all participants but also strengthened the bond between the school and Rotary Club, reflecting the spirit of community service and collaboration.
